Commodore Seth Cutter

I have decided to renounce Investment Banking and instead become the Commodore of my own private fleet of ships. As you would expect, I have done my research and decided upon the following fleet:
  • As my flagship I have chosen Glenstorm, a 255' tri-masted Dutch sailing vessel.
  • For more informal duties, I have twin cutters named Aravis and Cor measuring 72' each.
  • When time is of the essence, I rely on Ramandu's 3600hp to propel this 63' power yacht to 52 knots.
  • For pleasure time, I choose my matching 27' speedboats Puddleglum and Reepicheep, both capable of 69 knots (80mph).
  • During more relaxed pleasure time, the 30' sailboat Mr. Tumnus becomes my vessel of choice.
Altogether, that is 546 feet of marine vessel to command.
Note: I am now accepting applications for Crew. If interested, please leave a comment naming your desired position or responsibilities.

In light of the several responses I got from those who wished to be part of my crew, I have chosen the following positions for the applicants:

GROUNDS CREW
  • Tim'thy: Tailor and barnacle scraper; permanently resides on an isolated island a short distance off the coast from the main Castle complex. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the entire fleet's hull, sails and wardrobe.
  • Jason: Groundskeeper of the Castle located on the Islas de la Bahia at Latitude of 16°18'52.30" N and Longitude of 86°31'32.77" W. Manages all support services required by the fleet.
  • Ayelet: Director of Aviation; responsible for all incoming and outgoing flights from the private air field. Chief Pilot of all aircraft.
  • JoHannah: Lighthouse Keeper.
CAPTAINS OF THE FLEET
  • Rachel: Navigator and Logkeeper on board Glenstorm; responsible for safe navigation and accurate record-keeping. Coordinates the movements of the entire fleet.
  • Kevin Wong: Slightly disturbed Captain of Aravis; he has been known to threaten mutiny on his own ship and has walked his own plank several times. Currently under psychological review.
  • Kevin White: Full-time Captain of Cor.
  • Amanda: Full-time Captain of Ramandu.
FLAGSHIP CREW
  • Ginarina: Ship's Cook and Boatswain on board Glenstorm; Captain of Mr. Tumnus; responsible for the crew's morale and work efficiency as well as the maintenance and repair of the rigging, lines, cables, sails, and anchors. Resident Poet.
  • Allie: Ship's Counselor and Cultural Advisor.
  • Adria: Ship's Figurehead and Muse.
FLEET DIRECTORS
  • Mike Hicks: Director of Medicine.
  • Jenny Brothwell: Director of Peripheral Activities; Classified.
  • Chris Irwin: Director of Audio.
  • Becky: Director of Entertainment; prepares ships for dignified guests, when appropriate. Attends to the overall appearance and presentability of the fleet.
  • Amy Sundahl: Director of Appearances. Responsible for visual aesthetics on board all ships.

Upon rescuing several scallywags who had been marooned on a beautiful Caribbean island, we added the following to our crew:
  • Laralyn: Fleet Jester and resident scapegoat.
  • Bryan: Press Secretary. While not spinning stories about the Fleet's operations, he has become Tim'thy's de facto baker. His primary responsibility is keeping our barnacle scraper happy.
  • Ashley: To Be Announced.
  • Janelle: When Becky rescued Janelle from the island, Janelle swore a blood-oath to become Becky's lifelong servant. Thus, she follows her master around doing whatever deeds are required by the Director of Entertainment.
  • Jeff: Buff sailor. Hoists sails and draws the anchor up. Possesses the strength of twenty men.
  • Curtis: Chief Technology Officer. It is Curtis who got our ship's attention while marooned through the use of a crude radio made from coconuts, rum bottles and seagull droppings.

Now time for a democratic-style vote. The following missions must all be completed in the next ten years, but I want your input as to which would be the most productive, and why!
  • Overthrow the United Nations
  • Find and Invade Zanzibar... wherever it is
  • Participate in a handful of yacht races
  • Invade New Orleans
  • Spend a few months in desperate search of a Mrs. Commodore
